Remember that we are dust,
and unto dust we shall return.
Canticle of Joel 2:12-14
It is God who speaks -
Return to me with all your heart,
with fasting,
with weeping,
and with mourning;
rend your hearts
and not your clothing.
Turn to me again,
for I am gracious and merciful,
slow to anger,
rich in steadfast love
and relenting in punishment.
Perhaps I will again relent
and leave behind a blessing,
oblations and libations for me, your God.
